NATIONAL MODEL RAILROAD ASSOCIATION
Past Webmaster's Choices

December 23, 2000 to January 23, 2001

ECI East Yard The ECI is a modern short line operating out of Henderson in North Central Indiana southward over the ex-New York Central (CCC&StL) North Vernon Secondary purchased from Penn Central and Conrail. The ECI runs through Emporia, Rushville, Greensburg and terminates in the Southern Indiana town of Westport. Connections are made with Conrail (CR) and the Central Indiana & Western (CIW) at...

As is true of most model railroads, the ECI has been built and rebuilt several times and is even now in the midst of another expansion & modification program. There have also been those times when there has been no movement at all. The ECI is not a spectacular model RR, but there is much to recommend it. So, sit back and enjoy the East Central Indiana RR.

Webmaster's Choice: NP and UP N-Scale RR Arrrggghhh! There are so many good sites and so little time. - WM

Robert sez, "This site was created so I could share the progress of my railroad with anyone interested in N-Scale model trains. I have chosen to model a fictitious branch of the Northern Pacific Railroad that interchanges with the Union Pacific Railroad, during the transition years from steam to diesel motive power."

However, any modeler can enjoy the variety of modeling and projects that Robert has assembled on his pages with e-Passes, and 'How To' and even an award or two. I invite you to take a look at the Northern Pacific and Union Pacific N-Scale Railroad.

February 21 to March 22, 2001

Webmaster's Choice: Billings and Paradise RR

The great railroads that spanned Montana live on in memory and in many of the model railroad sites of the nation. This is one of them. It is called the Billings and Paradise Railroad. On this site the powerful locomotives of the Great Northern, the Northern Pacific, the Burlington, the Milwaukee, and the Union Pacific can be found plying the rails, defying time, and reminding us of their histories. Tunnel

So, let's all relax and take a visual trip through Russell's site where the ghosts of the past mix with the railroads of today. Let's visit the Billings and paradise Railroad

March 22 to April 21, 2001

Webmaster's Choice: Bob Miller's AT&SF Model Railroads Here is the Santa Fe Oklahoma Sub Division, in 1989 Modeled in HO Scale & Garden Railway as a Santa Fe Garden Railroad. With this site, you get two for the price of one. If you are into Grain Elevator operations, this is the place to see. When you get down to the photo gallery, you begin to realize just how big this layout is and the work that has gone into building it. So, let's take a quick peek at Bob Miller's AT&SF Model Railroads

April 21 to May 21, 2001

Webmaster's Choice:The Inyo & White Mtn. RR The location is a tall narrow valley surrounded by exquisite mountain ranges somewhere in eastern California called the Owens Valley. It starts in snow and ends in the Mojave. It's got minerals and agriculture filling it's history, with only Native Americans preceding that...

I almost overlooked this site because it hadn't been updated recently. However, the photos are worth the trip. So, relax and enjoy a look at Jeffrey Sipress' The Inyo & White Mtn. RR

May 21 to June 22, 2001

Webmaster's Choice: The Hudson Point and Hawthorne RR It's a time when life was simpler: 1956. Gas station attendants still wear uniforms, wash your windshield, and check your oil. Movies don't need ratings. If mom is not cooking at home, you may eat in a diner where a uniformed waitress probably knows your name. We are in love with our cars and drive-in restaurants are popping up all over. America is at its capitalistic best: business is booming and shiny new consumer goods are in demand…

So for your enjoyment, take a look at: The Hudson Point and Hawthorne RR
