Note: The Library receives up to 100 research questions per month from modelers, manufacturers, historians, authors and other rail enthusiasts. Because we answer so many requests, the typical response time is 4-6 weeks, although response times may vary depending on the current research load and the complexity of each request. A detailed response to your research question - including photocopies and an index to related subjects - will often be included in our reply, so it is essential that you include your full name and mailing address when submitting a research request.

Also, NMRA members receive priority routing for all research.  If you are an NMRA member, please include your member number on the form. Unfortunately, to cover our costs, NMRA members will no longer receive free research questions.  Additional charges may apply.
