Section 6. Model Showcase Rules

  1. Definition – Non-competitive event for models, photos and arts & crafts. Entries may be complete or in process.
  2. Categories
    1. Models – These include all models as designated by the categories of the judged model contest. However, other model and layout oriented items may be permitted such as mechanisms, control panels, etc. at the discretion of the contest chairman or chief judge.

  3. Event format – Entries shall be placed on designated tables for display. Entrants who wish to sit with their items to present, explain and discuss their work shall be provided with an event badge with their item number which must be displayed and shall be allowed to handle their items to facilitate a show and tell format. However such entrants shall not be allowed to remove their items from the contest room without resenting their claim check to the contest staff. The contest staff will try to provide chairs and behind-the-table seating for Model Showcase entrants.

    Show & Tell presentations shall be allowed at all times the contest room is open (see schedule) except when judging is underway. A special event is scheduled for Tuesday comprsing “An Afternoon of Meet the Modeler, Photographer & Crafter” to further focus and encourage the show & tell activities of the Model Showcase.

    Entrants in the other contest events are also encouraged to come to the contest room and participate in the Tuesday afternoon show & tell event. However, special seating will not generally be available. Badges will be provided as requested.

  4. Awards – Entrants shall be given Certificates of Participation.
