Roller Coaster

Stony Creek Flyer Roller Coaster

Note: This is not a 'How To', but a display of a completed 'Scratchbuilt Project' showing what can be done with some materials and time. It does not have to have been judged for AP Points.

This is a brief discription of a model roller coaster I built in HO scale and hope to include it in a layout someday. Here are the pictures of my Stony Creek Flyer Roller Coaster:

This is a model that I designed. Built in HO scale, the base is 18 inches wide and 4 feet long. The lift hill is about 5 inches tall. It was made to resemble an abandoned roller coaster that was located in an amusement park that closed.

Each piece of basswood was hand painted, then weathered to look like the paint is chipping off in some spots. There are 72 hand made trees on the model.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks in advance for considering my project.

I have no questions at all, Tom. Your work speaks for itself.
What a fantastic project! - rph
