ACTIVITIES

The plans for fun are being made with you in mind and we hope to have something for everyone.

We will start the week with a welcoming coffee with door prizes, introductions and updates to the activities of the week. This will be a good place to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones. We will show samples of the projects we will make in our clinics and give an overview of all the activities of the week and try to answer any questions you may have. We will also provide you with additional information on the area and how to navigate the public transportation system.

Our activities will include classes in arts and crafts, day trips to area attractions, easy walking tours, self guided excursions using local transit (Orange County has excellent public transportation), Tuesday’s Luncheon, a Bingo night with great prizes, and  a Lemon Lay-off. Wine Tasting, Chocolate Sampling, and a Marriott’s Kitchen Tour.

Come with your model railroader, make new friends and greet old ones, revel in new experiences, and best of all enjoy good relaxing fun.

Warm Up America

Learn to knit and crochet. We will be making practice squares 7" x 9" that will later be joined into afghans for the WARM UP AMERICA (WUA) project. WUA is an organization made up of volunteers who make handmade afghans, blankets, clothing and accessories to help those in need. You can find more information on their web site at: www.warmupamerica.com. If you already know how to stitch, please join us with your skill and help make this a successful project. It will be fun to see how many squares or afghans we can complete in a week. It will also give us something productive to do while we visit. We will have lots of yarn available, but if you have any odds and ends that you are tired of storing bring them along and we will try to put them to good use.
