A Special Thanks

July was truly an incredible month! For all of us on the Host Committee, it was the culmination of several years of careful planning and preparation.  We made a serious commitment to provide you with a quality convention that you would long remember.  Now that you have returned home and have had time to reflect, we hope you will think back on your time in Anaheim and conclude that all your expectations were met.

Thank you all for coming to AS2008.  One purpose was for you to renew acquaintanceships and to  visit with seldom-seen friends. Another purpose was for you to  experience once again the  fascination of model railroading.  Are your track plans in the formative stages for that new layout?  Did you return home and incorporate some of the ideas you gleaned from the clinics?  Have you contacted a nearby club with the hope of becoming a member?  Are you now building that car or structure to enter in the next contest?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, our efforts have been successful.

A large thank you to all our volunteers.  You made it work.  There were over 100 volunteers without whom we could not have mounted a successful convention of the size we did. The “more the merrier” continues to be true, and  we all had a great time.

The fun continues in Hartford in  July 2009.  We look forward to seeing you all there.
